A GDPR compliance service for small French websites: a scanner, a cookie banner, and the legal documents that go with them.
Three parts. A scanner that crawls a site and produces a remediation report scored by category — consent, documents, cookies, technical. An embeddable cookie banner, written in plain JavaScript inside a Shadow DOM so that it can neither break the host page nor be broken by it. A generator for the privacy policy and legal notices.
The scanner deliberately does without a headless browser: that is an accepted trade-off between cost, latency and reliability, not a shortcut.
Behind the product there is a registered business, European hosting, row-level isolation of the data, and payments from real customers since July 2026.
It is the project that taught me everything in a product that is not code: choosing a market, writing terms, taking money, answering someone who has paid.
